In Collaboration with PT Pegadaian, UHW Perbanas Students Enhance Investment Literacy

The Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas successfully held a public lecture featuring a practitioner from PT Pegadaian. This activity was initiated by the Diploma 3 Program in Banking and Finance (FEB UHW Perbanas) and was conducted both online and offline on Friday (April 24).
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UHW Perbanas, Lutfi, expressed his gratitude in his opening remarks to the practitioner, specifically the Head of PT Pegadaian Wiyung Branch Surabaya, Ida Wahyu, for her willingness to attend the Wonorejo Campus and share knowledge and insights related to digital financial literacy. Thanks to the strong collaboration and partnership, three students from the Diploma 3 Banking and Finance Program of UHW Perbanas have had a positive experience undertaking internships at PT Pegadaian.
According to him, investment literacy has developed significantly in recent years. In the past, PT Pegadaian primarily provided pawn services or investments in the form of goods, but it has now expanded into gold investment. “Gold investment has become a favorite, although it has experienced some decline recently,” explained Lutfi.
He added that the material delivered by the practitioner aimed to encourage students to be smarter in investing. “Many of you may have already planned your finances—now is the time to start investing for the future,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ida Wahyu emphasized the importance of investing, noting that inflation can erode the value of money. Therefore, people are encouraged to manage their finances more wisely through investment, as timely investment can lead to quicker financial benefits.
The insights shared by the practitioner are expected to serve as small but meaningful steps today in building a strong financial foundation for the future. (eko/pr)
