Fashion Show as a Medium for Personal Branding Expression among Visual Communication Design Students

Thursday, 23 April 2026     View: 48
Students of Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas showcased their confidence in a Fashion Show event held at the Faculty of Engineering and Design. The participants were undergraduate students from the Visual Communication Design (VCD/DKV) Study Program, Class of 2024, who are currently taking the Personal Branding course. Through the catwalk, students not only presented their fashion styles but also expressed their identities, characters, and the values they aim to build as productive and creative individuals.

A VCD lecturer at UHW Perbanas, Yudha Delonix Renzina, S.T., M.Sn., stated that students demonstrated their fashion styles and daily activities, which were connected to their personal branding.
“We hope that students participating in this activity perform with enthusiasm. In addition, they should be able to express themselves well and creatively, both individually and in groups,” Yudha explained during his remarks on Thursday (April 23).

He added that this activity provides a memorable experience for students—at least once in a lifetime. “We encourage every student to express themselves to the fullest and create a distinctive impression that will be remembered for a lifetime,” he added.

It is worth noting that this personal branding Fashion Show involved 19 students. They performed with various characters that reflected their diverse personalities and creativity. Among the characters presented were creative designer, photographer, basketball athlete, cosplayer, handball athlete, Japanese high schooler, content creator, fashion designer, CEO, finance professional, and others.

Overall, this series of activities served as a platform for students to explore and understand the importance of personal branding in the creative industry, while also training their courage, visual communication skills, and confidence in public speaking. From concept to performance, every step on the runway represented the true identity of each student. (eko/hms)
